Is that a serious question? Using a picture of Syrian refugees (not EU citizens, of course) with no prospect of coming to this country as a way of frightening people into voting for Brexit? Please.

Probably and they have to go through the asylum procedure and we should welcome victims of conflicts, shouldn't we? He's used a picture of a tragic march of humanity to frighten people. The spectre of hordes of foreigners invading the country in effect. It's a lie and racist.

I agree of course that we should welcome victims of conflict which we do and Im sure will continue to do. But scaremongering is what the poster done I do not agree that is was racist.

I realise that and I ask questions because I am genuinely interested in debate and want to learn/listen. I just think it’s really unfortunate that so many people are just rude/angry and get so personal! Not you

I try and be polite on Twitter - it's so easy to be angry. We all slip up sometimes, of course, but the loss of reasoned debate is a big problem and this platform is a cess pit too often.

Having read insults thrown on Twitter over whether it was a Starbucks cup on GoT or another brand it is heartening to see a civil discord on this emotive topic. 100% nice to see. It is OK to disagree :)
