Vast majority of doctors get into it bc they believe in a profession that’s dedicated to helping others. Not one doctor I know does it for the money.

This probably varies a lot by geography, but in India being a doctor is a matter of prestige and money. I know way too many of them who picked it for non altruistic reasons.
