  2. GW teal sheltering in the reeds to the right on Ousefleet lagoon this morning visible from the screen hide, or window on right of the hide.

  4. The last couple of days has really shown what World Wetlands Day is all about here at , Over 2800 wetland birds visible in front of the hides including 1700 lapwings, marsh and hen harriers and also the return from Weldrake of our green-winged teal!

  7. 5 spotted redshank currently on townend lagoon. Also good numbers of wildfowl from the hides on a brisk, breezy morning.stu.

  9. Our confiding buzzard didn't blink an eye this morning as I took the Softrak reedcutter back to base, it just hoovered up the worms around the Konik pony dung. The barn owl was also sat opposite! Pete

  10. Nice to have 5 spotted redshank in front of Townend hide this morning including the bird on the right that is just starting to moult into its dusky summer plumage. Pete

  11. Female ringtail hen harrier over main reedbed at Singleton lagoon 3.40pm, just as I was walking off the marsh. Pete

  12. Update on our reed rolling experiment, bit more tinkering today showing the different lay of the reeds in different areas, the stonechats loving the free meals too.

  15. Just compiling a slide show at the weekend when I came across this picture of this male eastern yellow wagtail from a couple of years ago that was nesting in a reedbed in the middle of the city of Yakutsk in Siberia. Pete

  17. Working all weekend means that I can't do the garden birdwatch. However I am keeping a list of birds seen in the car park/reception area. On 30 species so far today. Why not pop in and see if you can add anything? Stu

    Nice lunch time goose treat - two white -fronts with party of 60 Pink feet near Whitgift this lunch time flew off towards Blacktoft Sands/ Alkborough

  20. Nice to see while reedcutting today the secluded shallow flashes created two years ago out in the reedbed near the Humber. 2 jack snipe, 3 water pipits and plenty of beardies made it well worth while.
