    There is so much to be said and more to discuss but we need these starting points and we need you to be part of it. Like our panelists said, it is vital that we *all* work towards DEI and making sure everyone is represented.

    Q: How do intersections in the Black community, like being LGBTQ+ or being disabled, help or hinder? Dr. Pinckney: We really need to get people who are like minded together, not just professionals and find ways to adequately answer those questions.

    Chris Schell: It shouldn't all be on our (Black people's) shoulders. We should all be protecting the outdoors. Mother Nature doesn't care if we're gone or fighting.

    Chris Schell: We need to fix the Leaky Pipeline. There's a lot of talent out there. Young Black kids get the passion wrung out of them as they go through it.

    Chris Schell: It's important to talk about structure. Like the Leaky Pipeline. Someone coming up in school interested in this field getting told at different points they can't make it or they're not cut out for it. These are stories I've heard before.

    Wayne Hubbard: We had more people online and getting involved online, and with that they were asking how they did not know about this before. So yes it helped, but there's more that we can do like teaching being outside responsibly.

    Q: Has recent events helped or hindered Black people getting outdoors? Candice Price: Black Lives Matter, and we definitely do matter. We had to work around the pandemic but we got do some of our events online and people showed up.

    The one question we hear all the time is "We can't find them. They aren't there." Candice Price, "That's the biggest lie not just in the outdoors but in all facets. We're here, we're ready. That's why they brought us here in the first place, bc we're skilled"
