Still not 0.5% The paper says consumption ≧2.55GW, if run around the clock, that is 22TWh or 0.09% of global consumption (IEA 2016: 24,770TWh) It speculates that by end-2018 annual consumption is 7.67GW, or 67TWh or 0.27%
And remember, this is just for electricity, certainly not energy, which would be 1/3 as large a percentage (since electricity is just one-third of global energy consumption)
