Is it possible that benefits have been underestimated & harms over-egged? For all intents & purposes, climate change appears to be global-mildening so far. All measured effects bounteous. Greening biosphere, less severe weather, increase in growing seasons in Nth. Hemisphere etc.

Yes, the negative effects of actual "climate change" on the economy and human welfare will be small. But the negative impact of climate change POLICY on the economy and human welfare, resulting from a massive waste of resources "fighting climate change", will likely be HUGE.

Why negative? Warming has expanded the growing season and increased net rainfall. CO2 enrichment of the atmosphere has accelerated plant growth. All positive impacts, to say nothing of the massive positive direct economic impact of the use of fossil fuels.

That might be true, but also true is the fact that the solutions to fighting climate change will disproportionately hurt the poor in hot countries as well.
