10/n) Primary energy is a shitty, stupid metric that inflates the importance of inefficient technologies by a factor of three or more.

11/n) I suspect it dates back to colonial and oil crisis times, when the single goal of energy policy was to plunder or secure resources.

12/n) Now primary energy figures are mainly used to heap ridicule on the potential for renewable energy to scale. When you see them, beware!
