And Boris Johnson saying that the world's forests are the "earth's lungs" which is just blatantly false (a forest in equilibrium, like Amazonas, use as much oxygen as it produces, https://www.nationalgeographic.com/environment/article/why-amazon-doesnt-produce-20-percent-worlds-oxygen …pic.twitter.com/HjKQWX5lQJ
The people pushing these high sea level theories clearly don’t believe them. The prices of beachfront, lower Manhattan and London houses are rising every year. None of this is about saving the planet. It’s about being self righteous & telling other people do as I say not as I do
Why not just build some dams? They are needed anyway in case a small tsunami occurs. There could be tsunamis 10m high and people are panicking about 0.5 m.
Adaptation is the most obvious thing no one seems to be talking about, together with nuclear energy and geoengineering. We have several billion awesome human frontal cortices around...perhaps time to actually use them?
If below sea level they are definitely “at risk of being submerged”. You however are the indefatigable expert in misleading disinformation.
The more advanced developing economies might have the financial capacity to build dams and other climate-adaptive infrastructures, but definitely not small island nations and LDCs on the coast (like Bangladesh). Hence the refugee crisis scenario is legit.
