We all need less of everything but some people will ultimately have to have less of everything than others. Especially when I pay 25%+ energy bill levy to support subsidies for home energy schemes I can't afford to be part of.

It's much deeper than simply prosperity. They are anti-civilization. The use of non-instinctive knowledge which are required to build civilization, are for them unnatural. They are anti-human and think that those who reject the Alpha/herd society are non-human, and really bad.
