I understand the benefits to the poor, but don't get the flattening for the rich. Is general taxes and carbon taxes lowering rich GDP to the benefit of poor? Are global GDP amounts limited, therefore increases for poor nations directly lower GDP for rich nations?

If I were to increase my income from $50k to $100k a year at as consequence of raising the income of 10 from $300 to $600 then I would a) increase global inequality b) raise 10 out of absolute poverty c) raise total output. To objective persons b) & c) outweighs a)

It certainly won't get much play with the msm. People like Lonborg, Curry, Pielke are relently ignored, or trashed, by the consensus crowd.

I've always felt that poverty is by far the most parlous of the problems facing humanity; far more perilous than climate change. Take away poverty, and you can get people more conscious about the environment.
