"Europe is short of gas and coal"....bLaMe ThE wInD!!1!
In my view it is the consequence of quasi-populisme with green parties pushing their simplistic single interest message failing to even acknowledge the 2nd order effects of the measures they propose let alone take responsibility for it riding on a high of moral superiority
Like you I too care about climate change and agree we need to take action but to be diligent about it thinking through these 2nd and 3rd order effects. Ultimately, too aggressive measures will bite them as such steep consequences on voters will not likely be tolerated for long
a few business and factories will have to shut in the future, theres nothing green about an awful lot of factories and an awful lot of businesses, the comforting thing is an awful lot can close before anyone will notice
What is the stupidest attack on green energy?
Batteries
This is nothing to do with renewables. Any fool knows you have to have back up. This is just incompetence. Energy policy has to cover extreme events. If governments don’t provide for this, blame them - not nature! And in any case, today’s problems are due to Russia’s cuts
Incompetence brought on by believing renewables are the only way forward.
