So that is why the malthusian crowd doesn't like global warming...
Wrong outlet
Perhaps, for now. Wait until large parts of the Middle East become uninhabitable and coastal countries like Bangladesh flood. There are already problems from climate change and they show no signs of slowing down.
This is from one of the data sets Lomborg is relying on to claim cold kills eight times as many people as heat. It shows stroke mortality in India as a function of ambient temperature. It has a minimum around 33C (91F). 1/3pic.twitter.com/L5diexvlzG
Per Lomborg, excess deaths due to stroke at ambient 32C are people killed by the cold! More plausible: strokes are often a result of heavy physical activity. Below 33C, people are more likely to work outside and get more strokes. Above 33C, people start getting heat strokes. 2/3
Why am I just hearing about this? Great argument!
“The data cited by Lomborg on mortality & cold show rates of cold deaths have fallen but those from heat remained roughly same... However neither these rates nor the papers in the Lancet are directly concerned with mortality risk from climate change."https://climatefeedback.org/claimreview/global-warming-contributes-to-increased-heat-related-mortality-contrary-to-bjorn-lomborgs-unsupported-claims-that-climate-change-is-saving-hundreds-of-thousands-of-lives-each-year/ …
