But it is worsen than that. Climate alarmism is making children and adults alike anxious and depressed. Other factors are likely more important, like the rise of social media and fewer close social relations. But climate alarmism significantly contributes to the anxiety.

Every time there is a natural disaster, including one where humans do well, like the one in New Orleans, there are journalists and politicians who falsely claim that disasters are getting worse when they are not. They are getting better.

Fewer people are dying and their cost is declining or flat, depending on the disaster, relative to rising prosperity. Some journalists and politicians appear genuinely ignorant; others betray they know what they are doing with their cherry-picking.

The cherry-picking they do on forests is to focus on total area burned in recent decades & *not* on a) total area burned in the past b) the cause of high-intensity (mountain) fires today (wood fuel build-up) or c) the cause of scrubland (coastal) fires (development/elect. lines).

The activist scientists & journalists who are doing the cherry-picking know exactly what they are doing because they must actively exclude from the public evidence inconvenient to the alarmist narrative, eg declining deaths/costs, rising resilience, etc.
