I have only a 10 percent chance of getting into a crash at some point, but the consequences will likely be severe.

I have no view on whether this episode of extreme weather is a result of global warming, but 2-3 degree *global* warming doesn’t mean a uniform rise of 2-3 degrees in all locations, all seasons and all times of day. Literally no one argues that it does.

“Weather is not climate” is only a valid statement when it justifies MY position!

This is totally misleading. It is commonly known that incremental change in overall climate will also increase the temperature variance. This is a point so basic it is made in the Simpsons. (You are taking the role of Homer.)

“Commonly known”, “everybody knows”, “majority opinion holds”: These are not scientific measurements.

That is a silly statement and definitely not how attribution studies work. I recommend that you first review the basics of probability studies and statistical inference. After that you could try to digest chapter 6 (hazard synthesis). All of the above would preceed a tweet.

So do you imply that we should wait till we have far more than 2 degree Celsius from global warming before we start to care?
