This article does not consider the outcome from failure to meet net-zero emission? The poor will be impacted either way but there are greater opportunities for the poor and humanity if we work together bringing net-zero emission before the end of the decade than not.

The end of the decade is impossible. Even 2050 is impossible without massive use of nuclear power. To govern is to choose. And politicians need to be honest about the sacrifices they expect their voters to make. And they won’t be.

The TLDR is we should do nothing to limit pollution because it’s hard, and others might not do it, and so take unfair advantage.
And “lets innovate” our way out of this, is such a crap narrative in isolation. Why not do both?
