What a fantastic chart. Why cant we all agree on : 1) pollution reduction 2) garbage/plastic in oceans 3) clean water

I just took a took a class on environmental economics from Dr. C Arden Pope at BYU. Dr. Pope spent his entire professional career studying the effects of air pollution on health, morbidity, and mortality rates and his research shows overwhelming evidence of this fact.

Complex systems do not behave linearly.

Unfortunately, as I think can be seen from the responses, few seem to realise that the risk isn't equally spread across the globe leading to attempts to reduce quite small risks in wealthy areas, ignoring the threats to the poor.

This is kind of confusing. The thing about climate change is that it has the potential to end human civilization in the long run. No-one with any sense says its a contemporary problem

But dear, don't you think that all the other problems you cited are highly correlated to climate?

The few direct studies on this (e.g. hospital kitchens) seem to show that NO2/ particulates exposures of 10x the EU limits over 10 years have negligible adverse health impacts. Otherwise evidence is weak. Isnt the air pollution 'emergency' just another media hyped fantasy?
