When looking at subnational data over the past decades, there is no robust statistical link between regional temperature and regional incomes although temperature and incomes vary considerably between regions (see https://doi.org/10.1093/epolic/eiab007 …). Probably that is due to adaptation.

Most people cross the road quite safely so why are we so obsessed with the dangers posed by traffic?

We should of course look at dangers from traffic, but we should certainly also study how most people avoid traffic dangers and help spread those behaviors ("look both ways") And we should certainly not be telling our kids that almost everyone venturing into traffic dies
