My concern is that it’s impossible to go to electric cars without digging up the whole planet. Unlike petrol, the machines will need replacing every 10-15 years, then what, we minecthe oceans? Total madness.

And then the batteries need changing, or there's a tiny flaw somewhere on the vehicle... And it's more expensive to fix than to scrap the whole thing and buy something else. Piles upon piles of near-new electric cars on the scrap heap.
