Unfortunately the climate hysterics don't care (enough) about humans; rather, they care about all creatures equivalently -- i.e., we're just another animal species. Anything to diminish the human imprint is a positive to them. The Earth is their god.

If we want to focus on biodiversity then climate is way behind other environmental problems like urban sprawl, hunting/poaching and burning forests for graining and farming.

Your chart gives the impression of a clear trend. Consider the raw data: https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/number-of-deaths-from-natural-disasters …. Your averaged curve is clearly dominated by 6 of the 100 data points. These can be considered extreme events, so using a decade-average curve does not seem justified.
