How on Earth are solar cells going to take the abuse of road traffic/dirt/moisture for any length of time?
That’s not so much the problem (toughened glass layers on top). The problem is they just produce minuscule electricity compared to their cost.
If you believe in R&D then you can not fault trying solar roads. We learned leaves are a problem and much more. I do agree solar roads are a really dumb idea on paper.
