@BorisJohnson ban on petrol and diesel cars from 2030 won't save the planet.
Electric cars will achieve only tiny emissions savings at a very high price.

For real change we will need a shift in social attitudes towards the car. Not owning a car is probably the biggest change you could make. In built up areas and advances in tech this can happen. The future can be different from today.

Don't expect to have an electric car there isn't enough Cobalt and Lithium to supply the UK market if everyone had one, let alone the Global market. The Economic law of supply and demand will drive up battery prices only the rich will be able to afford one, Bicycles for all.

Er, didn't Denmark propose exactly the same thing a couple of years ago? It was stopped by the EU. Also, we are not banning non-electric cars, we are stopping manufacturing them. There's a difference.

Who would be stopping manufacturing them? It’s not the government that manufactures petrol cars now, so the concern surely is that government authority is outgrowing its’ mandate in the name of saving the environment & it won’t even be environmentally influential.
