I’m inclined to agree with the stance here, but do you have anything more solid to cite than nameless “experts”? Having specific sources would help make the case to those who don’t already agree.
Gavin Newsom is right that climate plays a part [in California's wildfires]. It does create a more favorable fire environment. But experts estimate this plays a minor role.

No climate plays no part , fires worldwide are decreasing in a slightly warming environment therefore the onus has to be on management ( human caused so yes ) severity and area burnt are decreasing whilst humans inhabit further from the centres annually .

Agree. There's absolutely nothing in any understanding of the phrase "short term" that anyone can do to alter trajectory of CC. Where we are is already baked in & if we stopped using fossil fuels 100% today, it would take literally millennia to return to pre industrial age level.

Better to evaluate situations where they arise, and employ pragmatic & practical solutions to counter impacts. Wiser forest management, better zoning & building codes, sea walls where appropriate, etc. Utilize our ingenuity to better prepare for the inevitable.

Also one additional thought. On the optimistic side in CC there will be global winners & losers. Better warmth, than guaranteed 3 mile thick ice sheets scraping everything to bedrock down to Virginia during the next cycle of cooling. CC is ongoing, pick your poison so to speak.

Sorry, nope. Last month, CA had 12K lightening strikes, temps in 100’s, causing 600 fires ... not in recorded history. The U.S. will have the worst Hurricane season in recorded history due to elevated water temps. Sorry, nope. Climate Change is real and a MAJOR part of problem.
