If we don’t try we don’t fail and if we don’t fail you don’t later succeed. There are learnings that came out of this enterprise for future application as with almost every other failure in the advancement of civilization. We wouldn’t have landed on the moon otherwise for example

I designed a similar system when I was 11 years old c. 1964 using parabolic mirrors on telescope tracking motors to focus the sun's energy on a water tower to produce steam for electric generation realized then it was too complex & expensive to maintain
