This framing poisons the discourse. If you want to make arguments about how best to mitigate the harmful effects of climate change, then do that. Don't title your book "False Alarm", and give denialists more ammunition to delay climate action.

Fantasy re-framings that cast experts as fools and encourage the reader to feel they're ahead of mainstream science is a lucrative genre. Hideously negligent, given the stakes. But lucrative.
