My friends kids in Norway are saying they learn more now when school is on the internet. They study more focused and learn to learn independently. It seems the pandemic has some positive effects.

As others point out, what matters is the opportunity cost. It might very well be that kids come out better educated from temporary online/home schooling. This seems to be true for those lucky to have academic parents with time on their hands, and less so for the less privileged.
