As that’s not the purpose of the policy, the rest of the comment is moot. The purpose of the lockdowns is to keep the number of patients requiring hospitalisation lower than the available hospital capacity. Because if you don’t, mortality goes up 10x or more.

exactly — and here Sweden is actually succeeding. Intensive care need has stabilized and much below maximum capacity The article makes the point that e.g. Denmark has over-succeeded in that infections are now much, much lower than capacity
