no i meant the "bare", "unjust detention" costs, stripped of second order effects. The cost of freedom limitation *by itself*. It must be greater than 0 to have parks and beaches forbidden even if it costed 0 to reach them , surely? or not being able to move to another state?

federal gvmnt pays 50k per year of unjust detention. That's 330M* 4k (montlhy reimbusement) per month of lockdown = 1.32 T per month. If lockdown is only a fraction of "unust detention", that's still 300, 500, 700 billion per month in pure freedom costs.

when a person is banned by law to buy a good or service, the social damage isn't the missing gdp. It's the missing gdp + the unmeasured consumer surplus. Where is that in CBA? not going out to dine for $50 is always more that $50 of utility loss.

Bjorn do you feel like sometimes people who say stuff like this ... it confirms how tied to money we all are? Also I hear about "Our Rights" rather than "Whats Right to do"... Would like your thoughts sir...
