You can't get the public to agree 100% on anything, and attempting to do so is itself part of the problem. The idea is balance. Our COVID-19 response needs to be balanced with other health and public concerns.

There is no contradiction. We need to find a way to live and work during corona, tackling the virus and avoiding exploding spread, when not the economy will be seriously affected by corona

What is the compounded loss of GDP if COVID turns in to another seasonal pandemic like the flu? Maybe there will be many animal COVID reservoirs That vs 1 month of supposed "wrecking of economy". Lets remind ourselves that vaccine is not guaranteed, it we dont get it, what then?

If we don't get a vaccine, then natural immunity is the only choice. The chances of not developing an effective vaccine are very small.

I think that is exactly what is happening. We will tolerate COVID deaths for a more normal life. The government opening or shutting economy is irrelevant with exponential growth of the virus. The issue is not a simple choice but discovering and knowing the choices.
