Ioannidis had been horrible at every aspect of the Coronavirus, why would we pay attention to him now?
Even if the disease is "just as deadly" as the flu - the expectation is that a lot more people would get infected since there's no immunity within the population whatsoever. Why is this crucial point always ignored in these pieces?
Oh boy. Covid19 is a new corona strain. Likewise every year new influenza strains are born for which nobody is immune. Thats why every year again many many people die from the flu (which is nothing more than a cover term for flu-like viruses including corona and influenza).
Much more contagious, no vaccine, no herd immunity, Bjorn you make some sense on climate change but this misses the boat.
Test, test, test. Get the data, move cautiously from there. Stop suggesting it’s a mistake to do what’s been done. NYC would be much much worse otherwise. Common sense.

Obviously flawed! 40k deaths? we are closing in on 20k admitted deaths now.
Even if true, influenza doesn't overwhelm hospitals and require oxygen and/or intensive care for 20% of those infected.
There's no evidence the coronavirus does, either. We don't know the # of infections.
