We at least have a decent A/B test with Norway vs. Sweden. If Sweden can endure rising deaths and hospitalizations, perhaps other regions can end their restrictions sooner. But I'm guessing Sweden is much healthier and has a better hospital system than places like Michigan.

I would guess Michigan has higher % of population with underlying conditions, like obesity, diabetes,

This is no hiccup. Many service businesses operate on very low margins. They cannot survive and off month or two. They’re not just going up pop back up when the lockdown ends. That’s not how it works. Many of these so called temporary job losses are going to be permanent.
