The death count is shocking and tragic. But we have to think of life spans lost vs lives. No? US life expectancy is ~80. Is losing 80 79 year olds to COVID 19 preferable to losing 2 40 year olds? 40 year olds with dependent children and possibly dependent 79 year old parents?
