I’m not an expert, but this analysis seems very simplistic and flawed at its core. Assumes 940,000 deaths in a ‘controlled’ scenario and 2 million in an uncontrolled? And assumes a fixed $ value for each death w/out adjusting for age? Will not age well.
This Study becomes more meretricious every time I think about it. Not only does it massively overstate the potential death costs, but it also massively understates the costs to the economy in the ‘controlled‘ scenario.
@BjornLomborg do you think ALL lives are worth $10m? Kind of impacts the result something fierce.... on the assumption that their source would have included an average slice of average population to come to $10m.
I believe $10M is the standard the CDC uses for these kinds of estimates. Not that it couldn't be wrong.
