plastic bags in many cases are not single use and are recycled. Just ask my Scottish Heritage Mother who does not throw them away without using them for something else LOL

And unless they’re soiled, it’s ok to reuse those plastic bags, reuse a cardboard box, or use no bag at all! (Will never understand, for example, putting a big plastic bag of apples in *another* plastic bag!)

This only true in one sense, that plastic bags have low emissions. But plastic bags are also a terrible cause of litter pollution on land and worse at sea. You are not factoring in that cost.
