A CO2 tax is dictatorial. You have no right to socially engineer individuals to get them to behave in a way that you find morally acceptable. Individuals should & must be left free to decide what is in their own self-interest. By taking CO2 you take production & innovation.

As models gleefully show a carbon tax + free market of solutions always results in nuclear power taking over. Carbon taxes are fine if we get rid of income taxes.

I don’t think a carbon tax would help. I do agree that we do need innovation to make greener, sustainable, renewable energy sources cheeper than fossil fuels. If countries such as China, Brazi & India don’t curb their carbon emissions, nothing we do will work.

Pump more money into nuclear fusion research to try and crack it within say 20yrs rather than 50yrs, and make energy so cheap that you don't even bother to charge for it.
