It's hard to take any of these proposals seriously when a core tenant is to do away with capitalism and install socialism in the west as a condition to fight global warming.

Stable temperatures and normal variations. Not like now, with ever rising temperatures. The rise of temperatures have a lot of implications. You are more talking of weather phenomena, which is somewhat different from climate change(eventhough climate change affect the weather).
