What happened to NZ?

#Socialism almost destroyed #NewZealand in the late 1970’s. Don’t go back to that #absurdity

Focus on “well being” has always been the excuse for power politics and cronyism.

GDP is a revenue measure Accounting rules usually require an asset measure too Otherwise cutting down a forest or repairing after a storm are seen only as gains But GDP has advantage that it is measured by the market rather than being an opinion Well being is a weighted opinion

Attempts to construct a well being index include odd things like number of years in education Should that be weighted +ve or -ve?

Well being tends to include things like "how worried are you about crime?" Ways to increase well being therefore could include censoring the news to remove reports about crime.

Let's increase wellbeing by reducing wellbeing so that we'll have more money to spend on increasing wellbeing. #WTAF?

That is the intention. It is easier for government to seize production once it destroys free enterprise.

This very simple message cannot be understood by those owned by the Programmed Cloning Machines owners. and because of this many politicians are now sending their own nations broke and causing poverty. Sound nice that is what matters.

Of course a persons wellbeing is important: collectively a society’s wellbeing can be even more important, but you can’t stop measuring the GDP or having a society dependent on well being alone, it will become lazy & broke
