I ask this question seriously. Maybe because I'm Canadian, I have trouble understanding how "moderate cold" can be lethal. How does this happen, usually? Through direct exposure? Untimely cold damaging crops, leading to starvation?

Much of India was over 45C. Although that temp is not common, it's outside the range of the study categories
