Lomborg is wrong, as so often. Solar + wind represents an estimated 7% of global power supply, and increasing fast. The subsidy is small compared to all the subsidies received by fossil fuels. Moreover, no new energy source made it into the market without subsidies @BjornLomborghttps://twitter.com/BjornLomborg/status/1107746025010278406 …

You claimed for many years that solar and wind did only make up 1% of global energy. You may have been right in the beginning. But not now. Solar and wind make up 6-7% of global electricity - and electricity is 1/5 of the total. That is more than 1%. Furthermore - will continue

Drop it Anders, you’re making a fool of yourself, and more importantly you undermine your cause. Pls make sure you master the topic before attacking those who do.

If your base is primary energy demand, incl all the efficiency losses, solar and wind look small. But recognizing the efficiency of the electric engine, in tandem with solar and wind, and not suffering from inefficiencies in thermal plants the picture is totally different

So stop badmouthing solar and wind. Btw, an issue you avoid is the need for deployment, learning curves and technology imrpovements. You sound as if there is a lab somewhere, we throw money on it and - all of a sudden - we have the perfect solution. Do you honestly believe that?
