It irks me that they're calling it "radical thinking" though. This is common sense thinking that anyone with their ear to the ground has known for years.

What if: 1.the theoretical work had been done; 2. No popular tech had any chance to beat fossil for transport and nuclear for everything else; 3. And all done so far was a ponzi scheme?

All the research is never done. But the key is to give priority to high potential technologies, such as new nuclear reactor designs, bioengineered plants able to grow very fast and massive in 600 ppm CO2 atmosphere, and fields other than solar energy and batteries.

i don't think that is true ... but hybrid cars and trucks are cool ! electric makes more instantaneous torque than any internal combustion engine ! but for basic travel ?? in a country where electricity production is not green ?? i don't think so ... go nuclear !!

As long as we convince people that the solution is nuclear/thorium based we will be fine. Everything thing else is a waste of time and money.
