Why is the World Economic Forum taking climate advice from a 16 year old climate campaigner instead of the world’s only Nobel climate economist?pic.twitter.com/44FQmDb1dd

But remember, this is already incredibly challenging (it requires *all* nations to tax all carbon, all at the same pace across the century If not, the policy costs will escalate, making climate policy less effective and possibly net damaging
And Thunberg's solution to "just say no" is not only naive and impossible. Trying to attain it, will incur tens or even hundreds of trillions of dollars of net costs. World Economic Forum is committed to improving the state of the world – and this ain't it
Who the Hell wants to Reduce Temperatures?
Maybe read the paper? Temperature is not being reduced absolutely just in comparison to a calculated status quo projectile in 2100. It's still going to be 3.5K warmer than in 1900.
Thanks @BjornLomborg for these figures. I have been looking for the @UNFCCC to admit the cost in $£€ trillions to mitigate #ClimateChange and seeking data from @Davos
I’m thinking 0.6 isn’t going to cut it. The heat sink of the oceans is almost saturated and then temps will rise more. When the future of life on earth is at stake, we argue about costs and jobs. Both important??? but when the SHTF, not so much.
Christ some no minds are still questioning the science. For Gods sake. Really. Ffing Really !!!
We optimized "social welfare" according to this model & parameters. Unfortunately humanity still went extinct after all.
A globally 'coordinated carbon tax' is just as much a pipe dream as stopping greenhouse emissions all together
Not me, Nordhaus: you can read his article here: https://doi.org/10.1257/pol.20170046 … Summary: Do nothing costs $134tr Do smart tax: costs $20tr, reduce climate damages $50tr = $30tr benefit Do more (most campaigners): climate costs decline, policy costs increase much more, net loss $40tr+pic.twitter.com/CbgZTeWLRj
