Why is the World Economic Forum taking climate advice from a 16 year old climate campaigner instead of the world’s only Nobel climate economist?pic.twitter.com/44FQmDb1dd

Nordhaus shows that a moderate, increasing, globally coordinated carbon tax can reduce temperatures – optimally by 0.6°C in 2100 down to 3.5°C Policy costs of $20 trillion will still be outweighed by lower climate costs https://doi.org/10.1257/pol.20170046 …
But remember, this is already incredibly challenging (it requires *all* nations to tax all carbon, all at the same pace across the century If not, the policy costs will escalate, making climate policy less effective and possibly net damaging
And Thunberg's solution to "just say no" is not only naive and impossible. Trying to attain it, will incur tens or even hundreds of trillions of dollars of net costs. World Economic Forum is committed to improving the state of the world – and this ain't it
I thinks she's saying 'aim high'. All these (genuinely) wonderful benefits of fossil fuels are not cheap at all when you factor in costs in decades ahead (many of which could not be financially quantified in any meaningful sense - although Nordhaus has tried that of course).
It's possible, when everything on the earth dies.
Nordhaus will be dead in 20 years, not the young girl. As a start.
Even a tweet has a carbon footprint . I say protest swamps, volcanoes, animals in the wild ,useless and pointless phone calls and texts plus the net, pointless explorations to find ships that sank 100years ago in 2 mile deep water, you couldnt make it up. Where's that asteroid.
Your think tank is fossil fuel funded. You have NO credibility when you talk up coal. Conflict of interest much?
