This seems impossible to me so I’ll need to dig in and see. I don’t think I know a single person with a felony conviction which is why it doesn’t ring true. Imagine the % if they prosecuted financial sector fraud.

I distrust that these are estimates based on demographics rather than measures from an actual source. Also only 3% have been to prison? I must misunderstand how it works if fewer than 3/8 of felons get any jail time. At a minimum we should emphasize “estimated”.
