.@Copenhagen_CC analysis shows a ramped-up green-energy R&D budget of around $100 bn a year would be the most effective global-warming policy. It would be much cheaper than the approach pushed by the IPCC, and would not require global consensus.

The UN cam form an initiative to fund climate R&D, maybe under World Bank. The funds should be prorated on GDP and in alliance with industry leaders in narrowly selected technologies that would alleviate emissions.

In private-sector battery research has been ongoing for over a century, I had clients doing wind-turbine and nuclear research 3 and 4 decades ago already, and I’m sure similar efforts were being made on solar cells. Seems avenues left for taxpayers are least likely to bear fruit.
