According to http://Worldometers.info it is going the wrong way about people getting access to clean water and with undernurished people. Do you disagree?

Better on the average, much worse on the tails. Betterment of everyday life has come at the price of huge tail risk (nuclear, biological threats, etc.) So "better" is a matter of perspective. IMO this world is much worse than 100 years ago.

100 years ago we were in the middle of the Second battle of the Marne: 270,000 dead or wounded in 3 weeks (for comparison this is approximately the total casualty list for the Syrian Civil war across 7 years). Are you sure you like 1918?
