I contacted the NYT about an erroneous AP story appearing under their banner on their site (30 ft sea level rise by 2100, LOL) This is the smart ass reply I get from the NYT News flash Accuracy of stories appearing at the NYT is your job, not mine Amazing⤵️

How close are we to taking over ? Not very. are much closer. Given that >70% of our trips are under 30 miles, the policy focus on EVs baffles me. This figure is coming out in a book soon, joint work with B Clinton and K Metaxoglou.

“Only one of the dozen most commonly cited facts about fashion’s huge carbon footprint is based on any sort of science, data, or peer-reviewed research. The rest are based on gut feelings, broken links, marketing, and something someone said in 2003.”

Insanity. Fracking has made the US the world leader in oil and natural gas production. Created trillions in wealth for producers and consumers. Made us less dependent on the Middle East. *Reduced* our carbon emissions. Fracking is American ingenuity at it's very best. 🇺🇸

Short thread It has been really interesting to see reactions to & One common response I have heard is in effect “So what? How does our now shared understanding of the impausibility of RCP8.5 effect my political aims and advocacy?”

You misspelled “thanks for your efforts to help ensure that climate science is robust and supportive of effective climate policy, in the face of incessant daily attacks on your character ” ⤵️

This NYT article shows how to make RCP8.5 look "conservative" -- predict something ridiculous and then use RCP8.5 as a foil I suppose a correction will follow soon

“Microsoft pledged a carbon-free future. Two hours later, it fired up its diesel generators” Why companies that pledge 100% renewables are lying to themselves & us (Hint: it has something to do with wind not always blowing & sun not always shining) 🤔

This spin on RCP8.5 — that it’s unrealism is due to climate policy success — is easily shown to be false⤵️
