I was gonna monetize this week after I hit 500. It was going to help me save for a car because I'm still in high school. That car would basically enable me to get my first job but now I can't do that. It took me 2 years to get to 500. I don't want to wait 2 more years to monetize

I even thought the 10,000 views thing wasn't a bad idea, but this is setting the bar much too high. YouTube has become a monopoly that doesn't care about it's users. I didn't start my channel for money, but money would definitely help my future. I can't wait another 2 years.

I agree, the money is what helps creators grow and evolve. Yes money isnt the main goals but it does help with like u said "new car" plus camera lenses, editing software updates ect

You should've monetized from the start. Subscribers don't matter; views do. I have 152 subscribers, but 185k views and $90 in my Adsense.
