A year of being on Zoom has made me realize it's bullshit when Picard doesn't wave goodbye to every admiral he talks to via his Ready Room terminal.

Or say goodbye for a good minute before logging off. He just says, "Picard out." And he's cranky 75% of the time.

I aspire to some day constantly end zoom meetings with an abrupt "Spatny out", without consequences.

Or, do the virt ver of what Japanese apologetically do (or in the 90s did) a full HOUR before parting ways: "Tsoro-tsoro shitsuerei shimasu." (It's (almost) time that I must be leaving.) All the while, taking small steps toward door, for ~ an hr (b/c abrupt departure is RUDE.)

I mean *no one* says goodbye in phone conversations in screen (unless it'sthe "big you hang up" gag or the character is going to die in the next reel). It's "economy of storytelling," but it's also just rude.

@Twitter add an edit button. That was "no you hang up."

We need to figure out how to make Zoom 1970/80s screen transitions - like a screen wipe goodbye.

Ooooo... the "LucasPack" of edits where you get horizontal wipes and clock wipes and iris wipes and the whole lot of them.
