This is a case where multiple efforts would be significantly better than just one. Remember, what you're trying to avoid is parties that are likely to collude against you.

That's kind of where this kind of logic always takes you. Why not pick a company to put transactions into blocks and pay them a million dollars a day (way less than miners make) and keep the ability to take that power away from them if they censor or DoS? 1/2
