    I'll be holding an "Ask Me Anything" event in Spennymoor this Friday. It'll be in the Memorial Room (top floor) at the Town Hall (DL16 6DG) between 6 and 7pm. Anybody is welcome provided we all handle ourselves respectfully. Look forward to seeing some of you there 😀

    John, you are far too kind 😀 You're also right, that's exactly why I got involved in BP: to use my skills to stand up for the unrepresented. Know what? The day after the election, irrespective, I'll still be in Bishop, doing the same thing, unlike other carpetbagging candidates!

    I read Nick’s site and was actually blown away by the quality of his achievements, experience and reasons for entering politics. THIS is what brexit party is about real people with real experience and genuine passion for standing up for local people. This is changing politics👇

    Hear hear John, couldn't have put it better myself! I'm constantly amazed by the chutzpah of the Tories claiming ownership of the electorate yet conveniently forgetting Bo "die in a ditch" Jo, "we will be leaving * 108" T May and Dave "brits aren't quitters, <leaves>" Cam.

    What do you base that advice on? The 45yr local BXP candidate should be supported - the Tories have lied repeatedly and made a total mess of brexit. No way they should be rewarded just because people are scared of labour getting power!

    Don't worry Kate - nobody in Bishop believes a word that comes out of Helen's mouth - her number is well and truly up! To all former Labour voters in Bish, Barney, Spenny and Shildon - I'm a local lad and the obvious choice if you want to get rid of Helen

    I find it absolutely amazing that thinks she can kid her constituents that she tried to support us Leaving. If I lived in Bishop Auckland I could not possibly vote for her

    To personally intervene on any matter brought to my attention by a voter or business in the Bishop Auckland constituency. To offer voters a Right of Recall better than that offered by existing legislation.

    To claim only those expenses absolutely essential to my work and to be reasonable in my requirements. To have a running total of how much money I have cost the taxpayer and where it was spent always publically available via my website.

    To shift the focus of UK politics towards more Direct and Delegated Democracy and away from Representative Democracy. To be paid no more than the average national wage, any excess being donated to charity.

    Re manifesto, I'll leave Nationally to HO but Locally, whilst almost all local policy and spend is handled by Labour-held Durham County Council, I think Bishop Auckland is crying out for an MP who fights for their constituents against DCC mistakes and indifference.

    I agree! There are 2 arguments for First-Past-The-Post: 1) Results in a "strong" govt. and 2) Enables representation by local people. FPTP has failed on 1) since 2010 and 2) just review recent Tory and Lab nominations - you'll struggle to find any from the region they represent!

    Helen Goodman parachuted in from Derbyshire, Dehenna Davison from Sheffield. Would be nice to see a ‘local’ representative. But would need a clear and costed manifesto not just on Brexit but real issues affecting this area and the UK.

    Just found out the useless Labour incumbent in Bishop Auckland is relying on a celebrity endorsement from Alan Partridge followed by a free comedy! This perfectly encapsulates the comical farce that is UK politics currently

    Nigel has put Country before party, and I hope Country reward by voting in places like Bishop Auckland where Tories haven't got a hope in hell of getting in. By not splitting the vote will make an excellent MP & change Bishop's future for the good.
