I just got off the phone with @Matsui4Congress's office, and confirmed that while she is calling for an investigation, she DOES NOT SUPPORT ABOLISHING ICE. She is up for re-election this year, but her challenger is awful. So what should folks in Sacramento even do?
Currently funding is based on property taxes. If you live in a depressed area your schools funding is lower than more affluent areas. Race has nothing to do with funding. Choice allows a parent to decide what school a kid goes to not government. schools should have equal funding

Race has a lot to do with what neighborhood a person lives in bc of historically racist housing policies. Agreed, that schools should have equal funding. But you dodged the question - how does "school choice" affect students who's families cannot exercise that choice?

I was a little white girl in a predominantly black and Hispanic area of Del Paso Heights. My race had nothing to do with being poor. My being homeless had nothing to do with race. My friends were mostly black kids because we spoke the same language, not race.
